R I P olumide Bakare,May your soul rest in perfect peace Sir..

Veteran Nollywood Actor, Olumide Bakare is dead. The popular actor who has been battling with a heart/lung disease died in the early hours of Saturday Morning. This is according to his personal assistant, who was with him when he passed away Today, definitely is a sad day in Nollywood. Reports gathered claims that the actor is yet to fully recover from the sickness. But then, his condition worsened at the middle of the night and he was said to have called on his PA to take him UCH in the middle of the night but died before he could be conveyed to the hospital. Olumide Bakare, while on his sick bed at UCH, once told Ace TV broadcaster in Yoruba “Jide Omo Moronfolu, agbara mi o ka mo o(meaning /Jide, I can’t hold on much longer).” He will surely be missed by fans, colleagues, and family.

Nigeria former minister of Aviation Femi Fani Kayode'had said that the £50Million found by the operative of the economic crime and commission EFCC in the lagos apartment belong to the Minister of transportation Mr Rotimi amaechi.
He added that Amaechi owned the flat where the money was found.
“The $43 million is Rotimi Amaechi’s.He owns the flat it was found in too.NIA story is fake news! NIA does not keep cash in Minister’s flats!” Fani-Kayode tweeted.

German news magazine, Der Spiegel have claimed in a new report that Ronaldo's lawyer agreed to a settlement in 2010 after an alleged rape incident in Las Vegas, soon after Ronaldo agreed to move from Manchester United to Real Madrid. According to the newspaper report which emerged on Friday, Cristiano Ronaldo paid $375,000 compensation to a woman who claims he raped her in a Las Vegas hotel room in 2009. The magazine also revealed that settling document was detailed in six-page and was read aloud to the claimant by Ronaldo’s longtime attorney Carlos Osório de Castro at a mediation session in Nevada on January 12th, 2010. It was also stated that the Portugal captain was addressed as 'Mr D' and the unnamed woman, who agreed to drop all charges, as 'Ms C'. The Irish Times reports that De Castro signed the document on behalf of his client but declined to comment on the claims when contacted by Der Spiegel, he said he 'never commented on clients’ affairs” and said no inference should be made by his silence.

OMG/: Protest at Akowonjo, Lagos as policeman kills South African based young man

It is not exactly clear what happened, however, media reports said the deceased had issue with a friend over a sum of N5.2m Niyi sent to him in for safekeeping while he was in South Africa. Niyi returned last week and asked for the money only to find out that his friend Santo has spent it. After failed attempts to get the money, he was said to have reported the case to the police. The policemen reportedly told him to alert them once he sighted Santo in the hotel, where he always stayed. Around 7am on Thursday, Niyi and his friends reportedly visited the hotel to verify if he was there. A resident of the area, Segun Ajayi, who spoke to PUNCH Metro, said Niyi was into an undisclosed Internet business, through which he realised the money. "Niyi had not been in the country for a while. He just returned last week. While he was in South Africa, he did a job and told his friend, Santo, to help him pick up some money which was about N5.2m. He told him to keep the money. But before he came back, Santo had started spending. "He lodged at Erico Bellisima Hotels. Niyi had been going to check him at the hotel, but the receptionist insisted Santo was not there. He and his friends went there this morning (Thursday) and confirmed Santo was there. Niyi called operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad. They said they were on their way and that he should ensure Santo did not leave the premises. "Santo sent a worker to check if Niyi and his friends were still around. They beat the worker. A policeman securing the hotel came in and instead of asking what happened, he started shooting. He chased the men and shot Niyi in the leg; the man fell. As he was struggling to stand, he shot him in the back at a close range and he died on the spot. The policeman knew Niyi very well; he was probably aware of the N5.2m deal." STORY report by PUNCH

Court to deliver judgement on Kemi Olunloyo’s bail todayOlunloyo was arrested by security operatives and charged to court for publishing materials that were allegedly offensive to a frontline Port Harcourt-based cleric, Pastor David Ibiyeomie. The journalist had earlier been arraigned at a magistrate’s court before the matter was transferred to the Federal High Court. The application of her counsel, F.O. Lawal, for her bail had been opposed by the prosecution counsel, David Abuo. Abuo had told the court that in spite of her being remanded in prison, Olunloyo had been issuing threats through her Instagram page over her continued detention. But her counsel insisted that Abuo’s argument in opposing Olunloyo’s bail fell under extraneous matters that were targeted at prejudicing the court. However, the trial judge, Justice H.I.O. Shamah, fixed Tuesday, April 11 (today) for ruling on the bail application and continuation of hearing on the case.
